Mosquito Borne Diseases

Any community where mosquitoes are present faces the public health threat of mosquito borne disease. Many citizens of the U.S. are unaware of the extent of the diseases transmitted by mosquitoes here in our own country.

Pet Owners

An increasing concern to pet owners in our state is the dog heartworm parasite transmitted by mosquitoes that can be debilitating or fatal to their pet. There are also many other viral and parasitic diseases carried by mosquitoes that can create allergies and infections in pets.

Livestock Owners

Livestock owners have long been aware of the influenzas, encephalitises, and now West Nile Virus that threaten their animals and spend thousands of dollars annually vaccinating them against these health threats.

Public Health

Mosquitoes are capable of transmitting numerous diseases to human populations including: malaria, chikungunya, dengue fever, yellow fever, encephalitis, West Nile virus, and now lymes disease, which was once thought to be only carried by ticks, is now believed to be transmitted by mosquitoes.
