See "What We Do" for details on the below categories.

Surveillance

Picture
Before treating areas for mosquitoes, we survey the area by using site identification and "dipping" water.

Larviciding

Picture
When surveillance shows evidence of active mosquito larvae or historical evidence identifies areas of concern, we initiate abatement actions.

Adulticiding

Picture
When adult mosquitoes are present adulticiding abatement occurs.  Areas identified as "No Spray" are not treated.

Identification

Picture
When adult mosquitoes or mosquito larvae are found, representative samples are collected and identified in our laboratory.

Trapping

Picture
We have 17 adult mosquito traps set throughout our district.  The traps are checked early morning and help AMCD focus on areas of concern.  Trapped adults are identified, counted, and recorded in our lab.
