AMCD's Product History
AMCD was formed in 1960 and until around 1993 the following products were effectively used for mosquito abatement:
In 2010 AMCD was introduced to Natular and began using it in 2011 for the majority of its larvae abatement. Permethrin is still being used for “flyers”.
From 2011 to 2019 AMCD is still relying on Natular, Mineral Oil and BTI for its larvae abatement and Permethrin still being used for “flyers”, although, due to worries regarding resistance, the use of Fyfanon EW will be introduced in the 2019 season.
These products, to date, are the most effective and environmentally safe products the AMCD has found for mosquito abatement in its district.
